White Dome®      Hills of Snow Hydrangea

A very unique and showy new native Hydrangea selected by Wouter Kroumhout of the Netherlands for its very large dome shaped blooms.  These outstanding blooms appear from mid-summer to late summer. The pure white blooms lighten up a garden and contrast wonderfully the large deep green leaves. The plant is quite sturdy and it holds its blooms up in a neat fashion, while other selections, like H. Annabelle, tend to collapse after heavy rains.

Hyd. arborescens 'Dardom'  pp# 14,168

Use White Dome® hydrangea in woodland gardens, in the back of the perennial garden or in the shrub border. This easy to grow plant is reliable flowering and the flower color is consistent regardless of soil pH or winter temperatures.

The flower heads are of good size, ranging from  6 to 10 inches. The blooms are well distributed making a very nice plant and display. You're going to love this remarkable new introduction!

What People are Saying ...

I'm always suspicious of new Hydrangea offerings. Many of them look ratty after their flush of bloom in my tough Georgia climate. 'White Dome' not only is delightful in flower, but the foliage is holding up beautifully, too. Of the 30+ Hydrangea cultivars in my garden, 'White Dome' is in the top 3. A beautiful shrub loaded with long-lasting flowers. Also it should be noted that the long-lasting blooms are wonderfully fragrant. Oddly this attribute is not noted in the description of this shrub! - Diane O'Connell,  Indiana, zone 5

This hardy, strong growing hydrangea rewards gardeners with clouds of big, lace white blooms.  The dome shaped flowers seem to float about the plant, and are held up by sturdy stems that don’t droop, even after a heavy rain.  This sturdy variety won’t flop over like ‘Annabelle’ and so maintains a tidy appearance throughout the season.

WHITE DOME® hydrangea is useful as a mass planting or incorporated into a woodland setting.  Largely trouble-free, it has few pests or diseases.  It is a hardy hydrangea that blooms on new wood, so even if killed to the ground by extreme weather it will still produce summer flowers.

The blooms are extremely attractive both in the landscape and as a cut flower.  White Dome’s sturdy stems make it a durable choice for both fresh and dried arrangements.
