 Soft Serve®    Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Dow Whiting' ppaf 

 

A compact, conical Chamaecyparis with graceful, soft fernlike branching. The leaves are bright green on top and flecked with silver-blue on the underside. A great substitute for Dwarf Alberta Spruce. A sport of ‘Boulevard’.

Foliage Color:  Rich green foliage with blue coloration on the underside.

Size:  6-10' with time.

 

 

Exposure:  Full sun to partial shade is ideal for this variety. Protect from harsh winter sun and winds.

Soil: Prefers moist, well drained, lime-free soils.

Pruning: This slow growing, compact selection that requires little pruning.

Watering: Medium moisture.

Type: Evergreen

Fertilizing: Fertilize in early spring by applying a slow release fertilizer specialized for trees & shrubs. Follow the label for recommended rate of application.

Uses: Shrub borders, specimen, hedging, perennial borders and containers.
