 Ruby ANNIVERSARY™     Abelia chinensis 'Keiser'

 

An improved selection of Abelia chinensis that gives you more color as the dark, glossy foliage has ruby-red new growth and fall color.

 

This is a long blooming plant with clusters of salmon pink buds, white flowers and soft pink bracts from mid-summer until frost. The fragrant flowers are a butterfly magnet. Developed by Susan Keiser of Ossining, NY.

Bloom Time:  Mid-summer to frost

Bloom Color:  Pink in bud maturing to White

Foliage Color:  Dark green foliage is flushed with burgundy in spring and fall

Size:  4-6'

Exposure:  Full sun to partial shade

Soil:  Prefers acidic, well-drained, moist soil.

Pruning: Shear to shape in early spring to early summer, blooms on new growth

Watering: Medium moisture

Wildlife: Attracts butterflies & hummingbirds

Type: Semi-evergreen in the South

Fertilizing: Fertilize in early spring by applying a slow release fertilizer specialized for trees & shrubs. Follow the label for recommended rate of application.
