extraordinary new Hydrangea with exquisite bright lime-green flowers. The vivid

ORIGIN:
Hybridized by noted plantsman Pieter Zwijnenburg Jr. of the Netherlands.
Flowers:
Large, 10-12” panicle flower heads in late summer (mid-August). The
blooms last into fall (early October) and transform from green to shades
of pink and burgundy. The late season effect of green and pink blooms on the
same plant is breathtaking.
Unlike many
Hydrangea species that often fail to bloom, Limelight Hydrangea is very reliable
bloomer!

FUNCTION: Excellent shrub with long blooming period provides excellent
summer color
MARKET
APPEAL / UNIQUENESS: Wonderful fresh green colored flowers combine well with
all other plants and colors to create an impressive garden or floral display.
The large blooms are held upright on strong stems so they never look floppy like
Pee Gee Hydrangea can.
Uses:
Use as a specimen, as an informal hedge, in the shrub border of integrated
into the back of the perennial border. The flower heads are excellent for use in
floral arrangements when fresh or dried. The green color holds well even dried.
HABIT
/ GROWTH RATE A rounded shrub reaching 6-10 feet, but can be cut back hard
in early spring to produce larger blooms and a shorter plant. Limelight is a
strong growing plant with sturdy stems. The blooms are held nicely, not floppy
like PG.
CULTURE:
Full sun to partial shade, adaptable to most garden soils. Higher fertility
levels result in a deeper flower color.
