Electric yellow variegated foliage and dark red flowers in the spring make Eyecatcher live up to its name.

It’s a great impulse plant that easily adds season long color to any garden, container or landscape.

Introduction Date: Spring ’07 to growers, retail in 2008

Hardiness:  USDA Zone 4

Bloom Time:  Early Summer

Bloom Color:  Reddish-pink

 

Foliage Color:  Yellow variegated foliage

Size:  2 - 4 feet

Exposure:  Partial or filtered shade is a must.

Soil: Extremely adaptable, but prefers Well-drained soils.

Pruning: Best if done immediately after flowering. Also flowers sporadically on current season’s growth.

Watering: Medium moisture.

Wildlife: Hummingbirds & butterflies

Type: Deciduous

Fertilizing: Fertilize in early spring by applying a slow release fertilizer specialized for trees & shrubs. Follow the label for recommended rate of application.

Uses: Shrub borders, grouping, masses, specimen and containers.
