   BLUE CHIFFON   Hibiscus. s. 'Notwood3'  ppaf , cbraf
 

 

The Chiffon series of Hibiscus just got more exciting with the addition of this selection with rich blue flowers. It has the same great growth and lacy blooms.

Large, single blue flowers adorned with a lacy center to create an anemone-like bloom. Bold yet delicate Blue Chiffon Hibiscus is a star in the garden from July through September.

This is the strongest growing blue cultivar. Each stem is packed with numerous buds giving it superb flower power.

Hybridized by Dr. Roderick Woods of England. 

 

 

Hardiness:  USDA Zone 5

Bloom Time:  Mid-summer to fall

Bloom Color:   Rich Blue

Foliage Color:  Green

Size:  8-12 feet tall, 4-5 feet wide

Exposure:  Full sun

Soil: Grows in about any soil unless it is either really wet or dry.

Pruning: In late fall or early spring. Can be heavily pruned.

Watering: Medium moisture

Wildlife: None

Type: Deciduous

Fertilizing: Fertilize in early spring by applying a slow release fertilizer specialized for trees & shrubs. Follow the label for recommended rate of application. 

Uses: Late season color, groupings or masses, perennial or shrub borders, specimen, screens, hedges or containers.
